Using Search

A search feature is not case sensitive and includes all the documents, folders, and Shared folders. You can search by entering the name of the document or folder, or by entering a keyword from the the document or folder. You can also search for document tags and words within a document. When you add a new tag to a document, there can be a 20-30-minute delay before the new tag is displayed in the search results.
You can find a document shortcut by searching for the document name or tag. However, you cannot search for content within the document shortcut.
The new Search bar at the top can be used to specify what context or container you are searching. You can type the name of a document or folder, metadata such as document tags, file types, and so on.

Search retrieves information in two ways:

  • Type ahead: when you start typing in the Search bar, various documents and folders that match are listed.
For example, if you were looking for .pdf documents on iManage Share, type PDF in the Search bar to display only .pdf documents.

  • Hit Enter or Return: type in the search string and press Enter or Return to retrieve the matching documents and folders.
For example, if you type PDF in the Search bar and press Enter, all the documents and folders that contain the word PDF are retrieved along with .pdf documents.

For more information on the search context, see Enhanced Search.
